Arcade Fire multi-instrumentalist/hype-man Will Butler is releasing his solo debut, Policy, on Merge Records on March 10th. Billboard describes Policy as “a sophisticated amalgam of styles: garage rock, synth-and-sax minimalism, and HoJo-lounge funk.”
Ahead of the record, he’s premiered “Anna,” along with a video he directed himself. Butler says the video is part of his efforts to bring a “100% serious, but 100% joking” attitude back to modern rock.
Will Butler’s first Arcade Fire-less tour finds him “really excited to fill small venues with a 4-piece. We’ll still be plenty loud.” The tour will open in New York on March 5 and continue to SXSW before heading to Europe. No Bay Area dates as of yet.
