Toronto-based supergroup/Canadian indie-rock mothership Broken Social Scene played the Fox Theater in Oakland on October 26th. Touring behind their fifth record Hug of Thunder (and first since 2010’s Forgiveness Rock Record), the 8-piece touring lineup was joined by a horn section featuring members of Brooklyn-based afrobeat band Antibalas, who themselves had their own show nearby later that night.
Minus notable members Leslie Feist, Amy Millan, and Emily Haines, BSS played a career-spanning, 20-song setlist, including favorites like “7/4 (Shoreline),” “Stars and Sons” and “Anthems for a Seventeen Year-Old Girl.” Check out pics and full setlist below…
