Philly born-and-bred troubadour Kurt Vile, with his Violators in tow, hit the Fox Theater in Oakland on December 12th, in support of his quite excellent new record, Bottle It In. With a setlist comprised of a mix of old and new songs, radio-friendly pop and epically long jams, psychedelic rockers and solo acoustic tunes, Vile fired just about every arrow in his musical quiver. And at this point in his career, those shots rarely miss. He’s got enough songs in his arsenal these days to put together a setlist with really no filler, which is almost impossible to believe when there are TWO nine-minute songs in the set.
