Indie folk guy Sufjan Stevens released a trailer for his upcoming record, Carrie & Lowell, last month, and now he’s unleashed the first single, “No Shade In The Shadow Of The Cross,” from his seventh studio record. It’s a sparse, breathy track that’s not exactly out of line with a lot of Stevens’ established wheel house of sparse, breathy, dreamy tunes (though it is a departure from the darker turns from his previous record, The Age of Adz).
Stevens embarks on a North American tour in April, and has added a date to the Bay Area: He’ll be playing a second show at the Fox Theater in Oakland on June 6th, in addition to his previously announced June 5th show.
