Built to Spill have announced the release dates for their upcoming eighth record, Untethered Moon, along with the cover art for the album. They’ve also released the first single, “Living Zoo,” which you can hear below. The vinyl edition of the record will be released on Record Store Day (April 18th) and will be available at your local independent records stores. Additionally, “a very limited edition quantity” will be pressed on transparent blue vinyl and will be randomly distributed into the initial run of pressings.
Non-vinyl versions will be released April 21, though pre-orders are available now via Warner Music. You can also get a limited edition bundle that includes a t-shirt, the album on CD and digital download, a Built to Spill Foam Block Letter Magnet Pack, and an immediate download of “Living Zoo.” The band embark on a full tour on April, and play the Greek Theater in Berkeley in support of Death Cab For Cutie on July 11th. If you catch the band on tour (dates below) there’s probably a good chance you can catch at least one member modeling that t-shirt on stage.
