Bully release single from upcoming debut ‘Feels Like’

Bully, opening for JEFF the Brotherhood at the Independent in March.

Nashville’s Bully, who were recently in SF opening for fellow Nashvillains JEFF the Brotherhood, released the official single “Trying,” via Stereogum, off of their upcoming debut album, Feels Like. The record is out June 23rd via Columbia imprint StarTime International, but you can pre-order it today, and download “Trying” immediately. Two additional tracks will be released and available to download prior to the release of Feels Like, which will also be out on CD and vinyl.

Bully is fronted by Alicia Bognanno, a former engineer/intern at Steve Albini’s Electrical Audio studio. Not surprisingly, she’s also the band’s producer and engineer. Pitchfork describes Bognanno’s voice as a “full body, throat-scraping, soul-cleansing scream,” and that was definitely on display at the Independent last week, along with some pretty catchy grunge/punk/indie rock stylings. A good portion of the crowd definitely turned up to see Bully that night.
