Aussie singer-songwriter-guitarist/rising star Courtney Barnett releases her highly-anticipated record Sometimes I Sit And Think, And Sometimes I Just Sit on March 24, and ahead of that she’s released another track from the album. The song, “Depreston,” is a slower, folksier tune than the previosly released album track, the garage-rock guitar assualt/sad clown self-deprecating “Pedestrian at Best,” and really shows off Barnett’s skills at lyrical imagery.
Courtney Barnett, along with her band the Courtney Barnetts, kicks off a US tour with a slate of still-to-be announced shows at SXSW. She’s playing a handful of California dates, but nothing in the Bay Area yet. If you wanna catch her live you’ll have to head to the Roxy in LA or the Bottle Rock fest in Napa on May 29th.
