Built to Spill, Death Cab for Cutie expand tours, playing Greek Theatre together

Built to Spill announced their eighth studio record, Untethered Moon, and tour just a few days ago, but a Bay Area show was conspicuously missing amid the half dozen other California shows. Likewise, Death Cab For Cutie also just announced the release date for their eighth record, Kintsugi, and embarked on a tour, with a noticeable Bay Area-sized hole in their schedule as well.
Now, the two veteran alt-rock bands are playing a few West Coast shows together, including a stop at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley on July 11th. Continue reading

The Dø release ‘Shake Shook Shaken’ in US, touring Europe

French/Finish indie-pop duo The Dø released their third record, Shake Shook Shaken, in the US this week.
The Dodos release new video, kick off tour (including GAMH)
San Francisco’s The Dodos kick off their North American tour tonight, and are easing themselves back onto the road: the first show is in Sacramento before a hometown show tomorrow night at Great American Music Hall, then a day off before a show at the Roxy in LA. The band are touring in support of their sixth record, Individ, released last month. Continue reading
Luna announce first reunion show in L.A., more US dates to follow

Almost ten years after the last Luna show, frontman Dean Wareham announced via Twitter today that Luna will play their first reunion show at the Echo in L.A. on April 13 before heading to Spain for the previously announced short Spanish tour.
